Happy New Year!

I want to keep today’s post short, crisp, and clear.  Why?  Most of us are a little more tired than usual today.  Some of us chose to stay up late last night to celebrate the New Year.  Many of you were up late caring for your children.  Either way, no one needs to read a long “Wednesday with Warren!”  I have one goal; to help you with your New Year’s resolutions.  Are you ready?  Here it is:

DON’T MAKE ONE!

Do you realize only four percent of people who made New Year’s resolutions in 2018 said they kept them?  Four percent!  In fact, if you do choose to make a resolution studies have shown that by the second Friday in January you will start to wave the white flag of defeat. That means by January 10th, 2020, most of us will be New Year’s resolution quitters.  So I ask the question, “Why do we do this to ourselves year after year?”  I like what Albert Einstein said,

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

So instead, I want you to find a time on a regular basis to repeat the following three truths that have been the bedrock of our mission at David’s Refuge:

  1. I am not alone!
  2. What I do as the parent of my child is the most important thing I do on a daily basis!
  3. I am loved by a great God and a wonderful community!

Happy New Year!
