About Alyssa

Originally from the Adirondack region, Alyssa (also known as Lyss) is the first Development Associate based in Rochester. Her passion for community work started in 2015 when she completed a year of volunteer service with AmeriCorps NCCC. That experience inspired her to keep finding ways to make a positive difference in the communities she’s part of.

Alyssa has traveled and lived in Vermont, Oregon, Colorado, and California before moving to Rochester in 2021. She quickly fell in love with the city’s natural beauty, welcoming people, and strong sense of community.

With a background in events and sales, Alyssa brings valuable experience to David’s Refuge, where she focuses on building and strengthening relationships within the Rochester area. She spent three years working with the Rochester Lilac Festival, where she discovered her love for community events and the joy they bring to others.

In her free time, Alyssa enjoys going to local festivals and events with friends and spending time with her cat and dog.
