About Rebekah

Originally from New York’s North Country, Rebekah (known to most as Bekah or Beks) brings a background in media and a passion for meaningful connection to her work.

As Development Associate, Bekah helps cultivate community partnerships and coordinate fundraising events that fuel the David’s Refuge mission. Since joining in January of ’25, she’s felt deeply connected to the work and proud to be part of such a special team.

Before transitioning to the nonprofit world, Bekah spent eight years in New York City working in digital out-of-home advertising, most recently as a Director of Ad Operations. She led traditional and programmatic campaigns, integrated new technologies, and supported a wide range of clients.

Now back in the 315, Bekah is still exploring all that Syracuse has to offer and is always up for meeting new people. She earned her BA in Communications from SUNY Cortland (go Red Dragons! And yes, she’s still loyal to Coffee Mania).

Outside of work, you’ll likely find her with friends and family, out on a run training for a race, playing volleyball, catching live music, or deep into a book. She lives in Warners with her husband Jake and their two pups, Sheila and Cooper.

Why did you choose to work at David's Refuge?

Dedicating my time and efforts to an organization that will directly be supporting my community was a no brainer. As soon as I learned about David's Refuge and its mission, I just knew this is where I needed to be.

Where would your dream vacation be?

Right now my current dream is a UK trip with my husband Jake. I loved visiting England & Wales back in college, but Jake and I haven't visited together. We want to explore Scotland and spend time in London.

What's on your playlist right now?

Truthfully I love a WIDE range of music, mostly indie music. But without a doubt: Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and The Smiths.

Who inspires you?

My family and friends. I'm incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by people who never fail to inspire me, support me, motivate me, and teach me.
